Live Export is Cheaper

Live Export is Cheaper

Jo-Anne McArthur / We Animals

It is often cheaper to live export animals on ships than it is to use refrigerated meat transport. The money saved is at the expense of immense suffering for the animals, with zero regard for their welfare, or the potential spread of disease.

Asiatic Black Bears

Asiatic Black Bears

Epoch Times

Asiatic black bears are also known as “moon bears”, and are the most common species farmed for their bile. Extraction of a bear’s bile is done in a process the farmers call “milking,” and is usually performed twice a day. A catheter in the form of a rubber or steel tube is implanted into the bear’s abdomen by the farmer. The bile is then drained from the catheter, collected, and sold for traditional Asian medicine.

Shelter Dogs for Experimentation

Shelter Dogs for Experimentation

Many states allow the purchase of shelter dogs to university and pharmaceutical labs for experimentation. This is called “pound seizure” and is one more reason to adopt a dog from a shelter. These animals are sold directly to labs by shelters, or purchased from shady “Class B dealers”, who buy dogs from “random sources” which includes shelters, auctions, breeders. newspaper ads or online. Some of the dogs these dealers obtain are also stolen from loving homes. I can’t imagine a worse fate for a dog that has ended up in a shelter? to be abandoned and then tortured. Please adopt from your local shelter.
